A Stitch in Time.

This project was inspired by Christy Tomlison tutorial on how to make a  lovely scene inside a Tim Holtz clock> sort of followed her tutorial using my own version and varied the embellishments and as you can see mine isn't a valentine theme.

I just like the play of works using time inside a clock.
I found some cloud patterned paper and used that and some green paper from my scrap box and adhered them to the back. I had some sewing theme stamps and stamped those on the background.
The green front was done in the same as the tutorial. I protected the glass front by cutting out a circle the same size as the glass and places it over the glass. I added a clear tape tag on the centre back of the paper circle to pull it off when I'd finished the  painting. It worked a treat and I didn't get any paint on the glass.

I cut out the dress form from chipboard, using my Pazzles. i  painted it with white gesso and adhered a flower from my stash. I folded some flowery paper into a skirt and added some measuring tape ribbon around the waist. I used a cocktail stick to stiffen the back of the pole of the dress form so it wouldn't bend  and flop about in the clock.I also cut the word time from chipboard and drew some fake stitching around the edge. I had some plastic sewing embellishments to add something in the front.I left the modelling paste to dry for several days before I put the back onto the clock.

I have bought another clock and fancy doing  a time flies theme especially as I've just had a big birthday but will leave that for a while until I get a clear idea of what I want to do it.

Words journal page

This is one I did about a month ago. I adhered some dry wall tape to the page added some stencil work using  predominantly blue acrylic paints. I cut out a girl shape using a vector silhouette  shape girl from Google and stamped some script stamps of over it and adhered her to my page. I cut out some banner shapes with a scissors and threaded them together with some cotton thread. I then adhered cut out letters ( using my Cameo) and some glitter thickers  and words from tags and books and just adhered them to the page.  I edged the page with some TH distress paints ( green sage I think). Finished it off by edging everything with a black pen.

Washi Tape organiser

Whooohoo I finally found my charger for my camera batteries. A big thank you to my grandsons for hiding it in their toy box! As you might guess, I found it while I was looking for something else. It's always the way isn't it?

OK what have I been up to lately? Well not a lot having had a flare up of diverticulitis which sent me off to bed in a lot of pain. Thank goodness that's all over and I'm recovered from that.

With all these organising tools I've been making I decided to continue that theme and made a box to hold my washi tape. I made a simple box with a base and four sides  then adhered that to a slightly larger base side and lid. I made them out of chipboard to give it some strength. I covered them with what I have left of the Tim Holtz Ideology paper pad.

I cut 2 strips of chipboard the same width as the box then divided them with one strip the same width as the box to create the compartments. The box was 2ins high and and about 10ins wide.  Having collected  all my tapes up and put them in my box I realised how much I had! I didn't think I had many at all, how wrong was I?!!

All I need to do next is add a decorative label on top to show whats in the box.

Red White and Black

I have been crafting but just haven't got around to posting them here. I haven't done a lot but I've just done a little as and when I felt like it. Unfortunately the battery on my camera is flat and I can't find the charger so I can't download my pictures..... grrrrr! I took some photos using my phone so I apologise for the  poor standard of my photography!

I went to my local crop today and I set the ladies a challenge of making a project using the colours red, black and white having been given a sketch and photo to inspire them.
They seemed to enjoy the challenge as something to focus their layouts.
I made a birthday card for a friend and a layout of my grandsons.... who else would I put on a layout???
The card is for a school friend with whom I share the same birthday so  of course I have to send her a card on this special birthday!

The grandson's are growing up so fast. They are both walking now and there are so many touching moments when they hug each other or babbble to each other!

I cut out most of the shapes and embellishments using my Pazzles. I'm trying to get use to the different settings for the various papers. I'm getting there slowly and not getting so many disasters....still love my Cameo though!!
I'll post my other projects once I find my battery charger....
